Jobs for Busy Moms are opportunities selected for integrity, your busy schedule, and flexibility in mind. I learned the hard way, going back to an 8 to 5 office scenario when my youngest child went to kindergarten a few years ago. It was 5 months of discomfort before I came to my senses and began to work from home. I discovered that I really liked sharing opportunities that I came across. Here you go! For a fresh list, just sign up on the right, you'll get it as a reply.

Resource: Take some time to program www.Indeed.com to send you tailored job openings that fit your parameters. Then, even on days when you don't feel like job searching, a job might show up in your e-mail that awakens your desire for it. Indeed pulls from lots of sources (and is one of my sources for jobs for busy moms).
Sponsor: This week I would like to recommend a "get pregnant" solution that does not involve drugs or medical intervention. Having been through fertility efforts (years) and getting pregnant with these tools myself, I am thrilled with this product involving Asian approaches and again -- NO DRUGS. Please forward this link to any friends seeking to become pregnant who may have encountered obstacles: www.GetPregnantMiracle.com (simply amazing).
1. Math Flashcard Writer
Necessary Skills:
Ability to extract brief questions and answers from conventional written materials and your own experience and imagination for a flashcard database.
Requires a strong aptitude for teaching, writing, including spelling and grammar, and comprehension of written material. You may need to make diagrams using a drawing program which we can supply for some subjects. You must have a reasonable mastery of the subject matter on which you will be writing. We prefer that you have a strong background in education and the subject on which you choose to write. It is helpful if you can see the terrible dysfunction in education today and want to help build a system that builds the character of our children in a positive way. You can telecommute from any place in the world.
Organizational Status:
Free World U, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is building an extremely innovative K-12 Internet school. We are accredited By the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. Our core curriculum is language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. We want to add foreign languages and the arts. We want to expand our curriculum beyond what is taught in public schools, and cover social skills, practical mental and physical health, character development, alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse, practical business skills, and the trades, as well as a survey of occupations. We also want to add an ancillary program in child rearing skills for parents. We have curricula written for the subjects that reference carefully chosen books.
At the same time, we are producing a web-based flash movie describing the vision of our program. We will describe the problems with the current schooling system, our methods of online accelerated learning in which the student can learn seven times as fast as conventional methods, and then go on to suggest experiential models that parent cooperatives and other organizations can use to supplement factual learning. We will describe a different model of augmented child development as a basis for a more functional society. Our program integrates with existing homeschooling groups and cooperatives which allow families with two working parents to participate.
Job Description
Your job will be to reduce conventional written material and ideas of your own to simple questions and answers, primarily in the field of mathematics.
In addition, we are looking for visionary writers to contribute to the script for our flash movie. Our goal is to develop over 500,000 web-based flash cards and incorporate word derivations and mnemonics for maximum ease of learning and retention. You can work from home and set your own hours and amount of time that you put in, within reason. We will provide the materials that you need. You would be an independent contractor. We have a written training program that we will send you. You can visit our website at www.freeworldu.org and see what has already been accomplished. As you are aware, teachers today are forced to "teach to the test." They often find this demoralizing and understandably so. Yet standardized testing is a fact of life. We see the solution as our web interface flashcard training program which will do this more efficiently. This will free the teacher up to be a discussion leader and teach in the style that is more suited to his or her personality.
Your Motivation
Would you like to change the world? To the point where the front page of the newspaper has an entirely different tone? This is our mission, and we refer to this as discovering and solving the root cause of social dysfunction. We think that the most effective way to do this is to make a dramatic change our method of education and make the curriculum more relevant to real life problems.
We've taken the California standards, which are the most precisely constructed in the nation, and built a curriculum around them. We have added our own standards to them. Then we have broken that down into what we refer to as factoids -- tiny atoms of information that are so simple that a small child can follow them with no assistance. We have 20,000 users at the present time and we offer free tutoring and technical support. We haven't had a single question about the course content! The factoids are divided into question and answer pairs and placed on electronic flashcards. We have prekindergarten through eighth grade 95% finished and high school 35% completed. We need to write multiple-choice test questions in order to verify that the student has learned the material. It works with a complex database that remembers every student and the status of every factoid that the student either knows or doesn't know. The computer gets to know the student's strengths and weaknesses and builds a custom tailored teaching program around their particular needs.
To Apply
Go to our website at www.freeworldu.org. Look at what we have done. The first thing that we look at is your letter of interest, and then your resume.
Compensation: $2 per flashcard.
