1. Wine Database

WineQuest is looking for help in managing our large database of wines. The responsibilities will be in reviewing wine additions to the database for correctness and consistency, in reviewing wines per our proprietary flavor profiling processes, and in researching and adding information on wines from the internet. We are looking for an individual with extensive wine knowledge, a desire for learning more about wine, and a love for computers and large databases. Competencies in international wine appellations and producers, large dataset handling, and internet/spreadsheet applications is crucial. Extensive wine knowledge and significant tasting through an existing job or otherwise outside this position is a must. The role will be initially part time at 15-20 hours/week, but could extend to full time in the future. Pay range is $25-30/hr. 2. Book-Keeper
Small Investment Firm Accountant/Secretary

We are looking to hire on a contract basis an experienced and dependable, part-time Accountant/Secretary with extensive accounting experience to work at a location of your preference to help run a small investment firm located in Berkeley. In addition to serving as the primary bookkeeper, this person is responsible for mailing, without fail, revenue statements to approximately 250 investors on the 15th of each month. These statements are prepared using a licensed proprietary software system, much like QuickBooks, that will require a rapid learning curve. We are only seeking candidates who are interested in making a serious commitment to this business. We expect that the work can be completed in 20-30 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

• Post accounting entries into QuickBooks • Prepare daily cash position for management • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting to C.E.O.
• Input various income & expense data into a proprietary software system and reconcile same to proprietary Excel data programs • Prepare and print detailed statements for approximately 250 investors on a monthly basis • Mail investor statements monthly on the 15th of each month, or on the prior workday if on a weekend • Prepare and distribute 1099’s for all investors • Respond to inquiries from third parties, as approved by Management, including responses to investors, clients, insurance companies, vendors, etc.
• Other projects as may arise from time to time

Job Requirements

- Excellent QuickBooks and Excel skills
- Ability and interest in learning and mastering proprietary software system
- An uncompromised commitment to ensuring that investor statements are mailed on the 15th of each month
- Minimum of 3 years secretarial or office management experience
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Strong problem solving skills, time management, and multitasking aptitude
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record with complex accounting matters
- A secure work environment, which can be in your home
- Education: BS Degree preferred

Compensation

- $30/hour, expected range 20-30/hours/week

4. Daily Blogger

My company is in need of daily bloggers. We are looking for all good bloggers on any topics, so please send us your resumes, examples, and tell us what topic you are best at. We need reliable bloggers, that have clear English skills. You also must know how to use social bookmarks (Digg, stumbleupon, reddit, etc). The more the better. You need to be on time, and write a blog post every day. We do not want to worry about you disappearing or if you are going to post a blog post on a given week.

Some clients require 2 daily postings (2 posts in one day, 14 in a week). Some only 3 times a week (mon wed fri). Pay reflects this. We may also hire you and ask you only to supplement our current bloggers, as in write blog posts that were missed. Pay will vary for this.

Hiring will be based on prior experience, English/grammar skills, and asking wage. And also how much knowledge you have with social bookmarks (using them). We typically pay about $100-$150 a month/blog for once-daily blogging (one post a day, 7 days a week). Pay checks are cut on the 10th of every month.
